Air One Adds Service to Milan Malpensa from Boston Logan International Airport

The Italian-based carrier has designated Boston Logan as a premier transatlantic market, and will fly Airbus A330 aircraft five days a week to and from Milan Malpensa beginning 27-Jun.

Massport’s Director of Aviation Edward C. Freni said, “I’m happy to welcome Air One to Boston Logan and pleased that they have designated Boston as a gateway airport for their service.”

With its 3400 employees, Air One flies to 25 European destinations, plus many other destinations with its code-share partners. In 2007, Air One carried more than 7.5 million passengers to their destinations and had revenues of 750 million euros.

Boston Logan serves as the gateway to the six-state New England region with a population of over 14 million and offers nonstop service to 70 domestic and 30 international destinations. Boston Logan also has more low fare flights than any airport in New England and in 2007 handled 28.1 million passengers.

Boston Logan’s $4.4 billion modernisation program, including new terminals, parking facilities, roadways and airport concessions, has transformed the airport into a world-class facility capable of meeting the needs of local travelers and businesses in the 21st Century. In 2007 Boston Logan was ranked number one as the “Easiest Airport to Get To” by the business travel website Aviation.com.
