Aer Arann is to re-introduce its Jersey- Cork route for the summer beginning on May-30. The service, which was launched in 2007, was suspended over the winter months but the airline has confirmed that the route will operate from the end of May through to October 2009.

Return flights from Jersey to Cork cost from GBP 35 one way including tax. The service will operate on Wednesdays and Saturdays departing at 09.35 and 13.35 respectively.

Director of Corporate Affairs at Aer Arann Andrew Kelly announced “We’re very happy to be back on the Jersey - Cork network this summer. It’s a route with great attractions for both markets, offering Irish tourists access to Jersey’s stunning island attractions and in turn offering Jersey travellers access to Cork’s renowned attractions and events, as well creating a doorway to the county’s surrounding destinations. It’s the sort of win-win situation that we think will make the route extremely popular this year”.

His sentiments are echoed by Senator Paul Routier, Assistant Minister for Economic Development who has specific responsibility for Jersey Airport. He said, "We are delighted to see the return of Aer Arann into Jersey and are pleased to support their efforts in re-establishing themselves on what I am sure will be a popular route, both in terms of inbound leisure visitors to Jersey as well as the local Irish community, using the service to visit family and friends".
