San Francisco is one of the most important and rapidly growing markets and biggest cargo gateways in the whole of North America. The city and the surrounding Bay Area are home to many global leaders in the high tech industry as well as the regional headquarters of several major Swiss corporations. Swiss WorldCargo will be able to link Los Angeles, San Francisco and Zurich to consolidate its reputation as a global leader in the distribution of time-sensitive and care-intensive cargo. Jack Lampinski, Managing Director The Americas Swiss WorldCargo commented: "These new services complement our strong North American network and demonstrate our commitment to providing customers with access to strategic global markets with all our range of special products.“ In North America, Swiss WorldCargo already offers daily service between Zurich and New York JFK, Boston, Chicago, Miami, Los Angeles and Montreal complemented by a finely meshed RFS network including Atlanta, Philadelphia, Washington DC and Toronto. The new flights will be operated using existing aircraft capacity, and will be added in parallel to frequency increases on routes to India, South America and Canada. “SWISS is one of the few carriers which will be able to further expand their network in 2010. The new service to San Francisco shows that we are capable of seizing opportunities in a difficult market environment and we emerge from the crisis as a reliable partner for our customers,” Lampinski concludes.
