Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS) stated a test project involving its Norwegian unit, which involves reduced the cruising speed of its aircraft from 860 kph to approximately 780 kph, has saved an estimated USD12 million in fuel since early 2006 (Reuters, 20-May-08).

SAS has sold Facility Management to Coor Service Management, thereby making Coor the general service supplier to SAS in Denmark, Norway and Sweden. The total value of the agreement, which will take effect on 02-Jun-08, is SEK1,750 million.

SAS announced it has finalised agreements with the Danish Pilots' Association (DPF), the Norwegian SAS Pilots' Association (NSF) and the Swedish Pilots' Association (SPF) with the signing of a two year collective agreement on salaries and general terms of service.
