Aer Lingus announced its winter schedule for 2008/09 from Cork Airport with the addition of a new service from Cork to Geneva. This brings to 18 the number of routes operated by the airline from Cork.

(XFN Asia) Aer Lingus Group Plc announced higher revenues and passenger numbers in the first four months of 2008, but forecast first half operating losses due to soaring oil prices, a slowing global economy and the weakness of the US dollar and sterling. Aer Lingus stated total revenues increased by 10.3% during the first four months of 2008 compared to the same period in 2007.

BELFAST International Airport has welcomed the arrival of three new routes as Aer Lingus announced its winter schedule for 2008/09. Munich, Milan and Lanzarote have been added to the network out of Belfast bringing to 34, the number of direct scheduled international destinations available from the international airport.

Aer Lingus is to increase its long haul fuel surcharge on routes to the US, effective from 14-May-08. The increase is as a direct result of the record upsurge in the price of oil in recent weeks and the airline's rising fuel bill. No fuel surcharge is applied on any of the 82 short haul routes operated by Aer Lingus.
01-May-2008 IRELAND :
Aer Lingus Group announced that it has now concluded a contract with Lufthansa Technik AG for components maintenance of its A320 and A330 Aircraft. Maintenance services under this new contract will commence from 01-Nov-08 and will be primarily provided in Germany.
09-Apr-2008 IRELAND :
Aer Lingus entered into a codeshare agreement with United Airlines on 08-Apr-08, enabling booking on each other's flights from 01-Nov-08. The codeshare agreement was signed by Aer Lingus CEO, Dermot Mannion, and United Airlines CEO, Glenn Tilton, in Chicago.
