TAP Portugal, the national flag carrier of Portugal, and Snecma Services (SAFRAN Group) has signed agreements that enhance both companies’ cooperation in CFM56 maintenance.

Zoom Airlines announced (12-May-08) plans to increase frequency from Canada to its UK destinations (London, Glasgow, Manchester, Cardiff and Belfast) to 27 per week this European Summer, although further details were not disclosed.

Flybe announced plans to add “a minimum of two extra return flights” on the Isle of Man-Manchester route to accommodate increased traffic expected for the Isle of Man motorcycle races, held between 24-May-08 and 07-Jun-08.

Austrian Airlines stated it has consulted its lawyers after talks collapsed with Saudi Arabian investor, Sheikh Mohamed Bin Issa al Jaber (Reuters, 13-May-08). According to Austrian Government-controlled OIAG, which has a 42.75% stake in Austrian Airlines, the talks collapsed as Jaber imposed “impossible conditions” on the agreement.

Emirates stated (13-May-08) it is in negotiations with Airbus to determine the impact of further A380 delays. The carrier is scheduled to receive five A380s in its current financial year, ending 31-Mar-09, and 12 more in FY09/10.

Airbus stated (13-May-08) it has completed the A380 programme review and advises of the following changes to its delivery schedule. Airlines due to receive A380s in 2008 and 2009 include Emirates, Singapore, Qantas, Air France and Lufthansa.
