The Irish Aviation Authority this morning suspended a further two air traffic controllers. This brings to a total of 14 the number of controllers now suspended because they have stopped doing work on a number of ongoing projects - work they had already been doing for the last two years.

Ryanair today (20 Jan) called on the missing Minister for Transport, Noel Dempsey to unequivocally come out in support of the Irish Aviation Authority’s stand against blackmail by the Air Traffic Controllers who are seeking a 6% pay increase, at a time when their workload has fallen by 25%.

Swissport International, the world’s leading provider of ground services to the aviation sector, has appointed Ricky Saghir as the new Commercial Director of its German cargo organisation. Saghir, who is 47, will also be overall in charge of Swissport’s commercial cargo activities in Eastern Europe in his new function, which he assumes on 1 February.
