Czech Airlines won the tender for the provision of handling services in Prague for Air France-KLM flights. Czech Airlines will thus continue to provide this carrier with all standard handling services, such as passenger handling and the handling of aircraft on the ramp. The new 2009/2010 Czech Airlines winter flight schedule will see a change in the days of the week of the scheduled Prague New York (JFK) flights. Direct flights will depart from Prague every day except Thursdays and Saturdays at 9:30 CET and will be operated exclusively by Czech Airlines SkyTeam Alliance partner, Delta Air Lines. The return flights will depart from New York every day except for Wednesdays and Fridays at 17:05 local time. SunExpress announced its 6 months operational results for 2009. The Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa joint venture continued to its growth and improved the number of its passengers by 34, 1% to 2.382.000 in the first 6 months of 2009. At the first half of the year, SunExpress performed 17.049 flights (+31, 3%) and flew a total of 41.137 block hours (+21, 1%). The management of the Austrian Airlines Group today agreed a time-limited package of saving measures with all the Works Councils designed to help improve the competitiveness of the company. It has been agreed that personnel expenditure should be reduced by 5 per cent for a time-limited period from 2010 to 2015. In the first six months of 2009 Adria Airways carried a total of 503,438 passengers, a decline of 16% on the same period of 2008. Currently, Aeroflot fleet includes 55 aircrafts from the А319/320/321 family. The airplane was named after the mechanics and controlling processes scientist, Academician Vladimir Chelomey. Currently, the company’s air fleet has 54 airplanes of the А319/320/321 family. Aeroflot has summarized its performance in for March and Q1 2009.In Mar-09, the company carried 604,600 passengers (including 1,900 by charter), and performed 1,792 million passenger kilometers. The prompt reduction of flight frequency on a number of routes was done with respect to the lower demand for air services and to allow lower costs. In this connection, the work load in March decreased by 16.5% (119,100 passengers) compared to the level of 2008.

TURKEY : Turkish Airlines has increased service between Amman and Istanbul as part of their route expansion program. More than 13.4 million passengers passed through Helsinki-Vantaa airport in 2008, an increase of 2.2% compared with the previous year. The biggest increase was in international traffic. A new parking service will be launched at Prague Airport on 13-Oct-08. The innovation consists of simplified access to the Parking D area. Clients may now park their vehicles in this roofed parking house without booking or paying in advance.

SLOVAKIA : SkyEurope Airlines launched the first direct connection between the Czech Capital city of Prague and the Italian seaside resort of Bari on 02-Oct-08. Bari is SkyEurope’s sixth Italian destination. In Summer 2009, SkyEurope also plans to launch Bari-Vienna route.
