As a result of a business transfer contract signed on 01-Jun-2009, SGS Finland, a SAS subsidiary responsible for ground services in Finland, will be transferred to ISS Palvelut. The entire personnel of SGS Finland, totalling 334 persons, will transfer to ISS Palvelut as existing employees. The business will transfer to ISS at the beginning of July.

The Chief Executive Board of Star Alliance, of which SAS Scandinavian Airlines is a founding member, has accepted the membership application of Aegean Airlines, the largest airline in Greece. This means SAS soon can offer its customers 28 new destinations in Greece. SAS currently operates 10 flights a week from both Copenhagen and Stockholm, which will connect smoothly to Aegean's wide network. Aegean's destinations include the islands of Corfu, Kefalonia, Kos, Mykonos, Rhodes and Santorini, amongst others.

According to the final results of SAS AB's (SAS) rights issue, for which the subscription period ended 06-Apr-09, 2,293,533,321 shares, corresponding to 99.6% of the offered shares were subscribed for with subscription rights. In addition, 566,900,561 shares were subscribed for without subscription rights, corresponding to 24.6% of the offered shares.

As of 15-Apr-09, SAS Scandinavian Airlines customers will be able to travel using only their mobile phone. This is in line with SAS' focus to offer its passengers the most hassle-free travel as possible. During a trial period (15-Apr and 01-Jul), passengers can experience the simplicity of travelling with Scandinavian Airlines between any of the following seven airports: Copenhagen, Gothenburg, Helsinki, London Heathrow, Oslo, Stavanger and Stockholm.

Preliminary results of SAS AB's rights issue, for which the subscription period ended 6 April 2009, indicate that approximately 98.6% of the offered shares were subscribed for with subscription rights and approximately 24.7% were subscribed for without subscription rights. Thus, the rights issue is oversubscribed by approximately 23.3% , and the underwriting commitments do not need to be utilised.

All members of SAS Scandinavian Airlines' frequent flyer program EuroBonus can as of 08-Apr-09 redeem their points for upgrades on Air China and Shanghai Airlines. The two airlines have with immediate effect joined the Star Alliance Upgrade Awards program. It also entitles Air China's PhoenixMiles members and Shanghai Airlines' Crane Club members to upgrade on SAS flights.

Scandinavian Airlines announced (12-Feb-09) plans to suspend the Beijing-Stockholm service from 01-May-09 due to insufficient demand. SAS had launched the service in 2007. SAS said in a statement, Removing capacity from the long-haul fleet is vital to reduce the risk and financial exposure of SAS operations in this downturn. The airline's Beijing-Copenhagen daily service will, however, continue operations.”

Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) will launch non-stop route from Stockholm-Arlanda starting on 02-Apr-09. SAS Sweden will fly the Stockholm-Malta route twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays during the period 02-Apr to 08-Nov. It will use Boeing 737-800 aircraft seating 183 passengers in two classes, economy and economy extra.
